As a participant in Lexington’s Restaurant Week “Beyond Grits”, School will be offering a Mini Kaiseki for $25 from July 25th through August 3rd. The mini kaiseki will be composed of sampling of the following nine dishes:
Tuna and Salmon Sashimi- Two pieces each of tuna and salmon
Seaweed Salad- Green seaweed with sesame
Age Nasu Bitashi- Eggplant fried and served in dashi with bonito flakes
Hijiki- Hijiki seaweed cooked in dashi with fried tofu and carrots
Yaki Tori- Bite size pieces of chicken and scallions on skewers, broiled and served with our house BBQ sauce
Tempura- Shrimp and vegetables coated in a very light Japanese batter and fried, served with a sweet dashi dipping sauce
Miso Soup- Bonito base soup flavored with miso paste with tofu, scallions and seaweed
Choice of California, Shrimp Tempura, Fire Scallop, Crunch and Munch, Hawaiian or Honey Bee Roll:
California Roll- Crab with avocado and cucumber; Shrimp Tempura Roll- Tempura fried shrimp with cucumber and avocado; Fire Scallop Roll- Spicy crab topped with seared scallops, bonito flakes, ohba, spicy mayo, sriracha and eel sauce; Crunch and Munch Roll- Spicy crab roll topped with shrimp, tempura crunch and spicy mayo; Hawaiian Roll- Tuna, white tuna and avocado roll topped with sliced mango; Honey Bee Roll- Shrimp and tempura crunch inside topped with tuna, white tuna, salmon and a sweet honey mayo.
